Boltless shelving is easy to assemble, requires no tools or hardware to install and is available at very competitive prices. The quality and strength of boltless steel shelving varies widely he are a few features to look for:
Use one piece uprights. Some shelving uprights come in two pieces which sacrifice strength and rigidity. No sway braces are required in most configurations with one piece uprights.

Heavy duty units should have a shelf level capacity of up to 600 pounds.
Extra heavy duty, some vendors market as super duty, shelving have capacity of up to 1,800 pounds. This storage configuration is most likely to be double rivet shelving.
The most common configuration configuration is 5 feet high with four shelves or 8 feet high with 7 shelves. There are several decking options, those being particle board, laminated particle board, plywood and ventilated wire mesh decking.
